Friends and Family night was a wonderful success! We had lots of food to offer, some great makeup artists, and lovely jewellery designers. It was nice to see all the ladies dressed up with red lips!

Project Winter Survival

Come to Friends and Family Night this Wednesday November 9th and help City Downtown raise money for a great local initiative, Project Winter Survival, helping the homeless stay alive in these upcoming cold winter months. 

What is Project Winter Survival?

For the past 11 years, Project Winter Survival and their team of volunteers & donors have assembled and distributed over 10,000 winter survival kits. These kits provide warmth and essential supplies needed for the homeless and less fortunate to survive on the streets. These kits often make the difference between life and death.
Each year they have over 12,000 requests for these life saving kits, from agencies that help these people directly, which they try to fulfill. Their goal this year is to assemble and distribute 2500 kits to over 90 front line agencies, which include the Red Cross, Salvation Army, local shelters and drop-in programs in the GTA. These agencies then distribute the kits to the most vulnerable people who are living on the streets.

Friends and Family Night!

City Downtown's Friends and Family Night is coming up this Wednesday, November 9th! Get excited! From 6 to 8 pm, there will be make up artists, fashion shows, lots of food, and great merchandise to buy! It's also a great way to get an early start on your Christmas shopping. We'll also be hosting some George Brown Jewellery students showcasing their fabulous designs, that are also going to be available to purchase! You can check out their blog here

Line Knitwear - MORE TO COME!

I forgot to bring my camera into the store yesterday, and when I brought it in today, our Line Knitwear merchandise was almost completely sold out! There were three sweaters/cardigans left when the store opened, but people were trying on two of them, so I was only able to photograph one! They're a huge hit! We'll be getting some new Line Knitwear very soon! We'll keep you posted.

City Downtown has just received a lovely selection of O.P.I Nail Lacquer! We've got some great colours for fall as well as some more traditional colours. Bake Sale + Coupons = Success!

Today we had our bake sale in the atrium. It was a huge hit! The vanilla pumpkin spice cupcakes with salted caramel cream cheese frosting made by Gillian in the promo team were absolutely divine! As well as the chocolate chip cookies macaroons and sugar cookies. We also handed out coupons for 10% anything in the store to whoever purchased some baked goods.

Our buyers are going out in the next week to get some new merch! Once they are ready for sale, photos will be posted on the Facebook page and blog for you to check out.

ALSO! we've got some very exciting VINTAGE pieces that will soon be ready for sale! They've been cleaned so their are ready to wear. Photos of those will be up soon as well.

BAKE SALE!

City Downtown will be having a lovely bake sale this Thursday (Oct. 6th) between 11 and 1 in the main Atrium. Be sure to check it out for some yummy treats and to take a look at our merch!

City Downtown's Grand Opening!

Today was the grand opening of City Downtown! It was a great success! Many purchases were made and customers seemed ver pleased. We had some great retro music, coordinated outfits, and yummy snacks. City Downtown will be open Tuesdays to Fridays from 11 am to 1 pm in room C465 at the Casa Loma campus of George Brown. Thank you all!

Grand Opening - UPDATE

City Downtown is opening in less than two days! We've got some great surprises coming up! Be sure to get excited, because we will have two guests from MTV's 1girl 5gays for you to meet!
