Project Winter Survival

Come to Friends and Family Night this Wednesday November 9th and help City Downtown raise money for a great local initiative, Project Winter Survival, helping the homeless stay alive in these upcoming cold winter months.

What is Project Winter Survival?

For the past 11 years, Project Winter Survival and their team of volunteers & donors have assembled and distributed over 10,000 winter survival kits. These kits provide warmth and essential supplies needed for the homeless and less fortunate to survive on the streets. These kits often make the difference between life and death.
Each year they have over 12,000 requests for these life saving kits, from agencies that help these people directly, which they try to fulfill. Their goal this year is to assemble and distribute 2500 kits to over 90 front line agencies, which include the Red Cross, Salvation Army, local shelters and drop-in programs in the GTA. These agencies then distribute the kits to the most vulnerable people who are living on the streets.

The Survival Kits include ‘necessities for the needy’ and in order to reach our goal of 2500 kits, they need to receive 2500 of each of the following (new) items:
· Sleeping Bags
· Sport Bags/Knapsacks
· Winter Hats

How YOU Can Help

Cash Donations – For a cash donation of only $25, you can provide a kit valued at $165.00 to help keep someone warm this winter. Just think, by donating $100.00 you can help 4 people stay alive by keeping them warm!
We’re able to do this at such a low cost due to many generous product donations we receive.

Cash donations are always needed to purchase the items that are not donated. Tax receipts will be issued for cash donations by The Salvation Army for donations of $25 and more.

Please make cheques payable to:
